Moving on and up

Well it has been a few months since I posted so I figured I should update. I only have one week left of my internship and it is bittersweet. I am going to miss all of the clients that I work with as they always get me to laugh. I will also miss the friends I have mad but know that I will keep in touch. The best part is that I will once again be a stay at home mom. Ethan is my joy and I miss being able to spend every day with him. It is so hard to leave him in the morning because he now cries and runs after me yelling no mom. (so Cute though)
I love him and Dan so much and know that they have been the greatest blessing in my life. Previous to meeting Dan I was on a very different path in my life. I knew what I was doing was not the best but at the time i did not care. I was in a terrible relationship which kept me down and it was not till I meet Dan that I realized life can be just what you want it to be! I am so happy that I made that choice to fix my life and become who I am. I am still working on things but I know I am so blessed for the choices I made. Life is what you put into it.
Ethan has begun to really talk. It is so cute I love when he yells. Please mom when he wants something like his nana. AKA Banana
He is just so dang cute.
Today I will have turned 22. It is amazing how time flies! Just a year ago I was holding my little newborn baby and turning 21.
I am so grateful for all the great friends I have and for the support they are to me.
I love life and I know now who I m and who I can become.

Thanks for everything you all do and for the inspiration you give me!!

Moving on and up

Birthday, Work, California

The sun is out and the weather is amazing! We have had so much fun in California. It has been so nice to take a break from the busy schedules and relax. We have done so many exciting things. Ethan has loved every minute of it. He loved crawling around on the beach and playing in the freezing water. He is so big now. We took him to The San Diego Zoo and Wild Park. We also took him to SeaWorld he loved all of the animals so much it was so cute to watch him get so excited. One animal in particular though was not on his likable list. Dan and I wanted to watch the whale show and it was quite hot so we figured we would sit in the splash zone. Little did we know this splash zone showed have been called the SOAK zone. Ethan was not a fan of having water flung at him and screamed. After the whales stopped he loved them so we had to get him a stuffed whale to help him remember! The zoo was fun. It is huge and took us 2 days to walk through. There are so many things to do there.

We also went to the festival of flowers where we got to see tons of cool colored flowers. This is hard to see but they had an American flag made out of flowers. It was really awesome.

I have been a slacker in posting so this may be long to bring you all up to date. Ethan turned one on April 1st and had such a great party with all his family. He loves his wagon that Mema and Papa got him. ( aka Dan's parents)
We got him his own car's cake to eat but he really had no interest in it until we showed him it was edible. Then it was game over.

I have recently begun my community health internship and am loving it. I work for a company helping people with disability's. They are all so sweet and it is a very rewarding job. Although I do enjoy it I miss spending time with my little guy. Brandi has been so sweet in taking care of Ethan and I know he is in good hands. He loves little Emmitt. We have been so blessed to have her help us out.
I am so looking forward to this summer as school has ended and I can relax. Well sort of I will still be working but at least no school. This semester I have pulled off a 4.0! I was so excited. only to more semesters and I am home free.

Life is good! We love our neighbors and I have recently picked up coupon shopping thanks to my neighbor. It is awesome to get great deals and to save money.

A new life

Well over the past years of my life I have struggled with my weight. I have realized how unhealthy I am living and that it must change now. Dan and I have begun P90x and it is kicking our butts. I never knew I could push myself this hard. I am determined to not give up and to lose 55 lbs. I know it will take time and be hard but it will be worth it. I will post my progress every week so feel free to check back.

On a lighter note( no pun intended) Ethan turns one tomorrow. Where did the time go it feels like just last week I had him. He has been such a blessing to our family. Although tomm he turns one he will also be in the hospital getting his tubes in. I am hoping he will recover quickly so we can celebrate his birthday on Friday!

Ethan an I also traveled to New York about 2 weeks ago. It was so fun for everyone to meet him.... they really enjoyed hanging out with him. I'm am glad I was able to go.(pictures to come)

The semester is just about over but then begins my internship.... it will be hard to do but I am trying my hardest to finish school as soon as possible so I can just focus on being a mom and wife.

All is well in our home, we cannot wait to take Ethan to his first Easter egg hunt Saturday. I can only imagine what he will do!

When Tragedy happens

So my blog has become a little sad and lately and it is not getting better. I got a call from my mom saying my sisters were really upset and having a hard time. She prefaced this by saying she was driving to pick up my nephews and saw that a distant neighbor had an ambulance, several police vehicles and other medical people ther. They drove past not thinking much about the situation. Approximately two hours later my sisters got a call that said RIP Shelby. They had no idea what happened. This girl went to school with them, rode the bus with them, and were friends. They later found out the little girl committed suicide. she hung herself. It was a shock to the kids. they cannot understand why this happened as they said she was always so happy and such a good person. They are really struggling to come to terms with this. At a time like this my heart breaks for the Shelby and the pain she must have been feeling. How sad it is that she felt there was no other option that to take her own life. This has also helped me to remember to be kind and not judge others for we do not know the battle which they are fighting.... May her family be watched over and comforted as they struggle to deal with the loss of there child. Lets all take the time to let people know how much they are loved!

We love you all!

A tragic loss

I think we all take for granite the simple things in life. The smell of fresh flowers, the sun as it rises and sets, the seasons and so many more. Life is rushed by our everyday errands. We try to get things down as fast as possible and then move on instead of taking time and really enjoying our life. Life is meant to be lived. there will come a point when all of us pass on but until then I ask you all to see the little things an dappreciate what you have for tomorrow you may have nothing. i say this because I got a call from my dad today asking me if I remembered a certain girl. Of course I did she was my neighbor my whole life, and one of my sisters best friends. Unfortunately late last night she was driving home and a tractor trailer crossed the line and hit her head on and killed her. It breaks my heart to think of the pain that her family is going through.... I cant not even comprehend it. May we all take one step at a time and let those around us know how much we really care for them for we never know when they will be gone.

While we are mourning the loss of our friend, others are rejoicing to meet him behind the veil. ~John Taylor

I am so glad I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I know without a doubt this life is not the end1 The gospel brings peace and happiness to me and my family and I can only pray for those people searching to find the answer

Family Vacation

Dan and I decided for Christmas we would go on a vacation to tour the east coast. We flew to Atlanta Georgia and then drove all around. We went to North Carolina and enjoyed spending time with some of Dans relatives and then we were able to meet up with my best friend from high school. We went to South Carolina and Georgia for a few days and then made our way to Florida for a week. We stayed with my sister and it was so much fun. We went to Universal and took Ethan on some rides. He was such a good sport. In the picture below he got to sit on his own and see the Jaws ride.

The beaches were awesome in Florida. We went to Siesta Key were the sand is the whitest softest sand there is. It was amazing. We let Ethan play and the water and thoroughly enjoyed it. We walked the beach at night and it was beautiful. That is my kind of place.....
We also took Ethan to The Aquarium and showed him all the animals. That was a lot of fun, they have the largest aquarium and we were able to walk through this tunnel and watch the sharks being feed.
We also went to the Forts along the coast. Dan and my brother in law decided that it would be fun to put Ethan in the canon. There I am freaking out cause he tries crawling backwards down it. Boy would that have been a mess.
We spent Christmas with my sister. Ethan really had no interest in opening presents, he just wanted to eat the wrapping paper. He did get a lot of toys though.... dan got me a wedding band for Christmas as I had never had one. We had a lot of fun spending time as a family.
