The beginning of the year! A lot has happened since I last posted. 5 years of marriage and two kids later and I am a different person. A lot of it is great but not all. My weight has become a huge (literally) issue. I am not happy with the way I look or feel and with my lifestyle. I want to be a healthy mom who is active and fun. I am going to be updating this blog daily as a constant reminder to myself about eating right and exercising... If you feel so included you can check for daily updates or you can just ignore it! Thanks for everyone's support! Holidays are the hardest to eat right as there is so much food around. I did not do great on eating but I did exercise Stats: Run of 2.25 miles= 34.38 Lunges 10 push ups 0 pull ups 10 adjusted pull ups 14 sit ups 14 triceps dips 34 second wall sit It may not seem like alot to most but it was hard for me and I am glad I did it even though I feel like I was about to die!

Baby shower????

Ok so I am having a hard time deciding if I should have a baby shower. I have a few people offering but in New York you only have one no matter the gender so it is weird to me. Obviously we have a boy and found out this one is a girl! I just want to get some opinions on how people feel about having a second baby shower. I know a lot of people here do two but it is a foreign idea to me! Let me know what your thoughts on it are... Even if you don't have a baby it would be helpful! Thanks guys!

It's been awhile

So I have neglected my blog and am about to catch up so this may be long.
  • Ethan has grown up so much and is just a little man now... He is so fun though and always has something funny to say. He is two and a half now and it seems getting bigger by the day. He is so excited to have a little sister as he always told me it was a girl. He loves to watch movies and will actually sit through most of it now. He loves Mulan, all of the Toy Stories, Tangled and Yo Gabba Gabba. He also moved to his big boy room with the fire house bed.
  • Doni Dan's mom is a RN for labor and delivery at the AF hospital and let us come in and find out what the gender was a little early. They were all having a hard time getting a good view but told us we were having a girl... We then went to our 21 week ultrasound and the Doctor confirmed it was a baby girl. Dan and I are over joyed. She is already a kicker. This pregnancy has not been bad just like Ethan's. she is due Feb. 3rd but we may induce a week early but are still deciding. My mom will come for 2 weeks to help me out. I am so excited to have a little girl.
  • Dan is doing great at his job and loves it. Sometimes he works till like 9 pm at night after going in at 6:30 in the morning. He is such a hard worker I am so proud of him and all he does for our family.
  • Dan and I are enjoying going to the BYU football games together although they may not be the best this year it is still fun to go. Kristi watches Ethan so we do not have to buy him a ticket or search for someone which is really nice!
  • The season of traveling is beginning for us. We are going to Costa Rica for a week, and New York for 3 weeks for Christmas. We are also going to Vegas, Wolf Creek and Steamboat Springs within the next three months. I love to travel and before our next little one comes we want to be able to get some more traveling in.
  • We are all doing well and having fun... We love to hang out with friends, try new recipes, and just and just hang out. I will post some pictures later and a few more updates!!

Learning to enjoy the little things everyday

So I am sure we all have our bad days but what about those amazing days we put on the back burner and pretend they never happen? Why is it that we always focus on the bad. I have been struggling lately and really trying to focus on the good.ethan has not been sleeping well which makes it in turn hard for us to sleep which is never good. I am learning though that for every bad day there is always a good. Heavenly father knows how much we can handle and what our limits are and he will never give us more then we can handle. What a great blessing this is to know. I sometimes find myself complaining over the little things. I need to just relax and come what may and love it! How great it would be to wake up every day with a smile on and just enjoy evey aspect like washing the dishes or vacuuming. Alll to often I ignore the like little things and focus on the big. I pray each daytolive mylife to the fullest.
Ethan has grown do big and has become a little boy. He is such a little stud and loves to talk everyones ear of. He has been the greatest blessing and is just the happiestlittle boy. Hemakes me laugh all daylong.heconstantly asks me when he can have ababy sister and i just tell him one day and he yells ok. He recently went tothe doctor for strep and is nowbeing treated for asthma. He has treatments twice a day and has an inhaler in case it gets bad at night. He is a trooper though. Dan and I are in colorado visiting our friends and ethan and kristi are back home. I am so grateful she can take care of him and that he loves her.
I have been so busy lately it seems I don't get the chance to blog much. School is now over and I have graduated and it feels amazing. I am so glad I did it. We have so many fun trips planned this summer and I am so exited to enjoy the warm weather. We are having fun already.

The gift of life is so precious yet so easily taken

Today we went to stake conference and I could not help but think about the atonement and the great sacrifice Christ made for us on the cross. A good friend of mine lost her brother last night to a sudden heart attack, he was only 27 years old. The pain her family feels i cannot imagine but I know that the gospel is the only thing keeping them together right now. The Prices/ Rooks will be in my prayers and thoughts as they cope with the lose of a family/friend. I know that once again they will be able to return to see him again. How great this knowledge is at a time like this. I will be forever grateful for the knowledge I have and hope to be able to share it with others. I am so great full to know you Lynlee as you are a true friend!! We love you guys so much and know that things will get easier. You have a true peace about you and I know this will help your family and his wife overcome the sorrow. We love you so much!

Patch Adams

So today at UVU the real patch adams came to speak.... He is such an interesting guy. He talked about happiness and love and how they are the most important aspects in life yet no one teaches them in schools or to their own children. This really made me think of my own life and how I handle things. If we all loved and looked out for each other there would be no war, no crime, nothing that caused pain... Can you imagine the world we would live in? How many of us look at someone and immediately judge them even if we have no idea what they are going through? I have challenged myself to love everyone and most importantly myself. How can I love others with out first really loving myself and all aspects of me. I need to be the person I love. This is my new years resolution!!! TO LOVE MYSELF AND EVERYONE!!!

Life has been very busy lately. My sister had her first little girl a week ago and she is just so cute. I am so happy for her and John. They will be such loving and great parents.
We got back from a cruise about 2 weeks age and it was so fun. The Petersons were so much fun and we had a great time getting to know the Stouts. Kristi took Ethan while we were gone and all though he was a handful she did great. She has been such a blessing in our life. We also went to Hawaii for two weeks in December and it was a blast. Pictures to come when I have more time.

I only have about 2 months of school left and am so excited to finish. It has been such a great blessing to be able to finish my degree while being a mom. I know it will be something I can always have. I am so excited to stay home with my con and eventually have more. It has been hard but when I start to feel like giving up I just remember 2 more months. I am so excited. Thanks for all your encouragement and support.
